The majority of grapes come from our own 24-acre Rutherford estate, where all five Bordeaux varietals are grown. The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested October 11 - 19 at 24.2 and 26.0 Brix. The Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec were harvested October 1 - 19 at 25.1 and 27.0 Brix. All of the fruit was picked by hand and then berry sorted before undergoing a 2-3 day cold soak. Each small lot was inoculated with one from an assortment of French yeast strains, with gentle pumpovers done 2-3 times per day. The wine was racked two times before bottling in August 2012 and aged in our underground cellar for 21 months until its release in winter of 2013.
