Why We Love Rutherford
Napa Valley Vineyard
Sequoia Grove is a family-owned winery founded in 1979 in a 110-year old barn beneath a grove of Sequoia trees right in the heart of Napa Valley in Rutherford. We're located within the 11,887-acre Mexican land grant, Rancho Caymus, which was deeded to the early Napa Valley settler George C. Yount from General Vallejo in 1838. Yount gave a 1,040-acre portion of the grant to his granddaughter Elizabeth and her husband Thomas Rutherford in 1864 as a wedding present. Thomas Rutherford established himself as a grower and producer of high-quality wines during the late 1800s. Luckily for us, Rutherford ranks among the very finest AVAs in Napa Valley and produces some of the world's best Cabernet Sauvignon. The long, warm summer days provide these widely planted grapes with the earthy and fruit-forward flavors and ripe tannins that Napa Cabs are known for.

Wine and Lobster Recipe
Planning Valentine's dinner can be more hectic than it is romantic. Rather than making reservations far in advance, trying to have alone time among the crowds and paying a fortune, make a quick and easy romantic meal in the comfort of your own home. For those of you who recently acquired the popular Instapot for the holidays, this recipe is for you!
Ingredients:
  • 4 lobster tails, fully thawed
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
What you'll need:

Directions

If frozen, allow the lobster tails to fully thaw before prepping. Use a pair of heavy-duty kitchen shears to butterfly the lobster tails. Dissolve 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt in one cup of water and add to the Instant Pot. Add four cloves of garlic and two sprigs of fresh rosemary to the Instant Pot. Place a steamer basket inside the Instant Pot. Partially close the steamer basket so that the opening is just wide enough to place the lobster tails standing up inside. Arrange the lobster tails so that the they are standing up inside the basket. Brush or drizzle the lobster tails with melted butter. Cook the tails for 2 minutes at low pressure to prevent overcooking the lobster's delicate meat. Once the cooking time had completed, pressure release before opening the pot. Allow the tails to sit for a couple minutes in the pot - the meat will continue to cook at this time. Serve and enjoy alongside a garlic butter sauce, Haire Chardonnay, a couple delightful side dishes and your Valentine.
