2005 Rutherford Bench Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
|
Deep, dark red in color, the intensity of the color immediately gets your attention. The nose quickly wows with notes of milk chocolate, black licorice, pencil lead and that ever present, elusive dusty, spicy character. Secondary notes of vanilla and black pepper bring the nose deeper into the glass. On the palate, the wine is seamless and very stacked with great structure. Fresh blackberry tickles the tongue from first entry to finish. The wine ends in an upnote of flavor, encouraging another sip.

2006 Lamoreaux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
|
Dark red in color with an intoxicating aroma of chocolate-covered cherries and raisins, clove and cinnamon spices. A slight charred character plays with notes of brine and carob. Hints of red roses dance in and out. On the palate the initial taste is round and forward with flavors of charred cranberries coming through on the mid-palate and giving way to a balanced and lengthy finish.

Inky red in color with an immediate hit of juicy, red cherries and fresh raspberries with background notes of red plum. Caramelized toast and cinnamon and clove aromas wave in the background. There is a hint of sage, cigar box, and that classic ‘allspice’ note. Well balanced palate with nice acid, round, subtle tannins and a lingering finish.

Intense almost blue/black in color with rich aromas of roasted plums that gives way to notes of tar, tobacco, and brine. There are intriguing hints of mint and rosemary interlaced with cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, the wine is plush and round, with very forward flavors of plum and raspberry fruit giving way to a sweet tobacco finish.

Very pale gold in color, this Burgundian-style chardonnay is the ideal balance of French restraint with California sunshine. The nose is delicate and steely, with notes of wet stone, honeysuckle, apricot, and almond. Ripe pear flavors come through in the aroma and on the palate, which is light and fresh with a creamy center of marzipan and a nutmeg, lemon flower finish.

On the palate flavors of sweet ripe raspberries come through and the wine has smooth tannins and creamy weight with an impeccable balance and a long finish.
