This 6-liter bottle is etched and gold-leafed. Dark red-black in color with an intense nose of sweet tobacco and coffee mixed with dark chocolate, cassis, and boysenberries. Background aromas of vanilla and cigar box interplay with a hint of anise. The palate is full, rich, and structured, but the tannins are so supple that the wine comes across with a lightness on the palate that surprises, especially when it leads into a long, long finish filled with coffee and chocolate. 94 Points - Tasting Panel Magazine
HARVEST & WINEMAKING
The weather couldn’t have been more divine. Very little rain fell at the beginning of the year and skies were mostly sunny and the weather balmy from early spring into summer. This lack of extreme weather and the slightly lighter than average tonnage allowed harvest to begin sooner and to move at a reasonable and controlled clip. Mother Nature had worked so hard all year and delivered one of the best vintages of the decade!
