Harvest & Winemaking
These grapes come from the Healy Vineyard, in the western part of the town of St. Helena. This vineyard is very special dirt—as confirmed by its neighbors, who produce very sought-after wines—and is planted to three clones: 191, 337, and Spottswoode. The fruit was hand harvested and cluster sorted before a two-day cold soak. After inoculation with French yeast, the wine underwent small-batch fermentation, with gentle pumpovers 2-3 times per day. In barrel, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was racked twice before bottling in August 2012. It was then aged in our cellar until its release in March 2014.
